Now, over the years, Hubby and I have had the kind of years where we had to get creative with Valentine's presents because money was tight.

I adore the old valentines that are so corny! I hope everyone has a fabulous Valentine's day and that everyone gives their loves an extra hug and kiss today! And don't forget that a little chocolate is in order too! My hunny is out of town today but he gave me chocolates yesterday! I snuck chocolates into his suitcase too. It's going to be me and Bubby tonight, but being 12 going on 13, he won't agree to be my valentine! But that's ok since I remember when he was 3 or so and he told me he was! Everyone have a lovely day!!

Isn't this an adorable idea for a Valentine's present? I found it over at Thirtyhandmadedays . It's so simple and would cost probably less than 5$ so perfect if you're on a budget! You can check out the instructions on their website. Your supplies would be a small bit of fabric, embroidery thread, an embroidery needle, and a picture frame. My husband did this at our favorite campsite a few years back. I thought it was so sweet! A little corny, but I loved it. So, it's almost Valentine's Day.

How the man can still surprise me after all this time is amazing. Hubby is out of town for work and I knew he was going to miss Valentine's. I told him before he left that we would celebrate when he gets home, but if he didn't come home with a big box of Whitman's, my favorite kind of chocolate, he was going to be in big big trouble. Well, this morning, I woke up to the phone ringing at 7 and it was him texting "Happy Valentine's Day!" I turned around in the kitchen and he had gotten Doodle in on the surprise and had gone shopping before he left. She had gotten up before me and lay these presents in front of the coffee maker where I was sure to find it. Isn't he the sweetest husband ever? I'm so lucky to have him and Doodle who thoroughly enjoyed being in on it! He also signed the card "Best Husband Ever", so I guess he knows how wonderful he is but I just wanted to share with everyone how much I really love that man!

I have done this trick but it's been a few years. Actually, my best friend told me how to do it. She got into serious cake decorating years ago and taught me some of it! But here on The Busy Bee , is a tutorial. It's quite simple but looks like you worked for hours! Use any kind of cake you like and decorate as you please!
