Honey!

Image
**This is a sponsored post. All opinions are 100% my own** I love honey. I love it in my tea, drizzled on biscuits, even an occasional peanut butter and honey sandwich. (Yep. Try it-it's phenomenal) But, did you know that there is a difference in honey and all honey isn't the same? I had no idea! The typical honey that you find on grocery store shelves has been filtered to remove all the pollen. This is not what you want! This removes all of the good stuff from the honey, including vitamins, minerals and antioxidants! At Rice's Honey , they take the honey straight from the hive to the bottle. Nothing is filtered, altered or added. It is straight honey, the way God intended. And it's sooo good! I received the Wildflower and Local Southeast honey and I was surprised that there is a taste difference. I found the Local Southeast to be a bit sweeter than the Wildflower. Both are delicious though! As you can see in the picture, I have used the Wildflower a little more. I...

Update to My Journey...

I had my ultrasound today, which went well. They found nothing but nabothian cysts on my cervix, which come to find out, is normal. Those go away on their own. So, now they are going to schedule me for the endometrial ablation. For those of you who didn't read the first post, I suffer from increasingly horrible periods. I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago because the pain from the last one had left me in tears. They have been getting worse every month over the past year. Which, he said in about a quarter of women after the age of 35, this happens. It's usually because of a hormone shift. So, he went through what will happen when I come in for the ablation. I get put to sleep, (Yay!), then they will dilate my cervix and do a D&C. He did say that some insurance companies make them do a biopsy at the same time to make sure there isn't any cancer, so they may do that too. Then they will use a little instrument called a NovaSure to, in a sense, cauterize my uterus. This w...

On My Journey...

I wanted to share with you about what I am facing health wise right now. I have found that what I am dealing with actually happens to a lot of women, especially as they enter their 40's and are past their having babies times. I had a doctor's appointment this week with a gynecologist. I haven't been to one since Bubby was a baby so about 10 years. I get my regular paps with my general doctor. When I had gone in in December for my check up, I was telling my dr about how bad my periods have gotten. I had my tubes tied when Bubby was born and they had been heavier since then, but for about the last year, they have been getting absolutely horrible and with tremendous pain. This past month was the worst it's ever been. The day I started, the pain overtook me and I ended up in bed, crying. Pamprin and ibuprofen didn't even touch it. And when you are going through about 6-7 overnight pads a day, I think there's something wrong. Well, the gynecologist told me that...

Please welcome Kelly Everson who has written the following post for us titled "Is There A Link Between Menopause and Urinary Incontinence?" She is an author and a contributor at Consumer Health Digest and has been kind enough to guest blog here on my humble little blog! Thank you Kelly!   Is there a link between menopause and urinary incontinence? Menopause brings about many physical changes in the body. The hormonal changes affect most of the functions and processes of body systems in one way or another. At this stage of life, all women notice at least a few changes. While many have no major problems or discomforts, some experience moderate to severe symptoms that can interfere with their daily activities. One such symptom is urinary incontinence. How menopause affects the body? At the onset of menopause, the body is beginning the process that ends the fertile stage of life. The ovaries stop production of estrogen and fat cells take up the task, but in ...
