Honey!

Image
**This is a sponsored post. All opinions are 100% my own** I love honey. I love it in my tea, drizzled on biscuits, even an occasional peanut butter and honey sandwich. (Yep. Try it-it's phenomenal) But, did you know that there is a difference in honey and all honey isn't the same? I had no idea! The typical honey that you find on grocery store shelves has been filtered to remove all the pollen. This is not what you want! This removes all of the good stuff from the honey, including vitamins, minerals and antioxidants! At Rice's Honey , they take the honey straight from the hive to the bottle. Nothing is filtered, altered or added. It is straight honey, the way God intended. And it's sooo good! I received the Wildflower and Local Southeast honey and I was surprised that there is a taste difference. I found the Local Southeast to be a bit sweeter than the Wildflower. Both are delicious though! As you can see in the picture, I have used the Wildflower a little more. I...

Alkamind Daily Greens!

Image
**This is a sponsored post. I received product in return for my 100% honest review. All opinions are my own** Let's face it. We, as mothers, don't always get the nutrition that we need. We are always busy and always on the go. We make sure that everyone else is taken care of and have what they need, but what about us? I have been seeing things all over the place about getting your "greens" and how wonderful green shakes are. So, when Alkamind approached me, I was curious. I am not what you call "health conscious" by any means and I have told you wonderful readers many times that when I go grocery shopping, it's like a 10 year old was let loose in snack aisle. But, I was intrigued by how easy this is to get the nutrition that I need. Alkamind comes in two sizes, a 30 serving canister or this box, pictured, that contains 15 single serve packets. Now, these are supposed to be mixed in water and drank straight. I could not do that. I did not like the ta...

Healthy Dips With Chobani!

Image
Chips and dip are a staple of tailgating, am I right? There's nothing better than a good French Onion dip, in my opinion. But, my buddies over at  Chobani  challenged me to come up with ways to "dip healthier". Because we all know that potato chips are not healthy. They taste really good, but aren't that good for us.

Chobani and Your New Year's Resolutions!

Image
Who else overate during the holidays? How can you not? Was one of your resolutions to eat healthier? Get healthier? That is one of the most popular resolutions. I know when I joined the gym last year, the lady who signed me up told me that there is a surge of memberships in January. But, there are little things you can change at home to get healthier. Like your eating habits. I know I need to make some changes. I eat like my parents are out of town for the weekend. I like sweets. A lot. Chocolate is a favorite. One thing I like to keep in the house though, is yogurt. Everyone likes it, even Bubby. And Chobani Simply 100 makes me feel good about eating it because it's only 100 calories and is sweet! It helps me stay on track and away from cake! And 100 calories isn't hard to burn off even if you don't go to the gym. Heck, even shopping will get rid of the calories! In addition to all the great flavors of Chobani Simply 100, they have Simply 100 Crunch with flavors li...

Have You Ever Had Edamame?

Image
I had never eaten edamame. Edamame is soy beans. These are really good for you because they are high in protein. I was watching my favorite cooking show Trisha's Southern Cooking and there was an episode about healthy eating. This is a recipe for a healthy snack that will keep you filled up between meals without a ton of calories. I made it and Izzie wouldn't stay out of it. And very simple to make. All you do is take a bag of frozen edamame and let it thaw. I haven't been able to find it already shelled so you'll have to shell them. Then you mix the seeds with about 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Then you mix 1/4 cup parmesan cheese with about 1 teaspoon garlic powder. I used a little more because I love garlic. Sprinkle over the seeds and mix to coat. Then you spread on a cookie sheet and bake at 325 for 10-15 minutes. And that's it! You must try this recipe! You can check it out here on Food Network.
