New Yarn! Yay!

*I received this product free for my honest review. All opinions are 100% my own*

Remember when I had the yarn giveaway I told you how I am now working with Red Heart? Well, when they sent me the yarn I gave away, they also sent me others to play with!
And this project is one of them! This is made from not quite one ball of Red Heart Medley in Volcano! This is one of the softest, warmest yarns I've worked with. It's a bit chunky, but very easy to work with. I decided to make myself a winter hat with it since it's sooo soft. I started out using a Red Heart pattern, called Beanie with a Dash, but changed it about 7 rows in. Here's how I started it-

From Red Heart Yarns pattern Beanie with a Dash-

Ch 4, slip st to join in ring
Round 1- Right side- work 8 sc in ring, join with sl st
Round 2- Ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, join (16 st)
Round 3- Ch1,( sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) around, join with sl st, 24 st
Round 4- Ch 1, (sc in next 2 st, 2 sc in next st) around, join with sl st, 32 st
Round 5- Ch 1 (sc in next 3 st, 2 sc in next st) around join with sl st, 40 st
Round 6- Ch 1 sc around join
Round 7- Ch 1 (sc in next 4 st, 2 sc in next st) around join with sl st 48 st

After this, I just did dc around until it fit my head. When it was almost to the bottom of my ears, I did 2 rows of sc around. And that's it! Very simple and very warm! You must try this yarn! I'm going to see what colors it comes in to make more stuff! I bet this yarn would be wonderful for slipper socks!
